On behalf of the Alpha Iota Chapter, we would like to welcome you to our site! Gamma Phi Beta at UCLA is part of a national sisterhood dating back more than 140 years. As one of the 10 oldest organizations in North America and the first to be called a “sorority,” Gamma Phi Beta has been fostering love, labor, learning and loyalty since November 11, 1874. Our sisterhood has remained dedicated to continuing the vision of our founder’s, grounded in strength, sisterhood, and purpose.
Lastly, we want to thank you for visiting our site. We hope it has given you meaningful insight into what it means to be a Gamma Phi at UCLA!

From the second I joined GPhi, I have loved every single moment. I feel so fortunate to have such an incredible, supportive group of sisters around me and I have met so many life-long friends through this sisterhood. GPhi has been so valuable to my college experience and I am so excited and honored to serve as a leader to this incredible group of talented, intelligent and kind young women!

We are so grateful to be closing out such an incredible year! We were able to celebrate 150 years of our sisterhood last November with an incredible Founder Day Celebration inviting alumni. Following our meaningful Founder’s Day celebration, we continued to strengthen our bonds through the fun and intentional sisterhood events that make our chapter so special. From getting permanent jewelry together on retreat, to a lively trip to the trampoline park, to hosting “Brains and Bagels” study sessions before finals, these moments reflect the balance of connection, support, and joy that define our sisterhood.
This year we also saw the epic return of REAL WELLNESS WEEK for the third year in a row, a week centered around empowering our sisters to prioritize self-care and giving back to the community. We held a series of events ranging from bouquet making and writing affirmations for sisters to donation drives supporting local women's shelters. Some of our partners included BARRY'S BOOTCAMP, Barebells, CeraVe, and Halara.
Throughout the year we remained deeply committed to supporting our philanthropic partner in a variety of initiatives. From fundraising events like Moonball and exclusive partnerships with Core Power Yoga and Tory Burch, to volunteering at the Girls on the Run 5K, we are honored to serve such an impactful organization in our mission of building strong girls. We are also so proud of one of our members who recently ran the LA Marathon this past March, a testament to the dedication and strength we strive to continue to foster within our chapter.
We can’t wait to see what next year brings. As we head into summer, we’re excited to watch our sisters take on challenging and exciting opportunities, carrying the strength, confidence, and sisterhood that define our chapter wherever we go.
